Iraq war ends or is just the beginning?

In seven years, more than a million of USA soldiers have rotated themselves in Iraq, now they are leaving.
Without a greeting, without a goodbye, they are now living, and Iraqis people probably don’t know if to be satisfied or concerned about the departure of American troops.
When the USA soldiers ten years ago entered in Baghdad just conquered there was no fight… there were only hundreds of children who are keen to put to secure their loot: refrigerators, cabinets, fans, chairs, mattresses, just stolen in the ministries, in hospitals, in the police stations, in the barracks abandoned.
Those boys was not frighten probably they not even looked at soldiers avant-garde in the labyrinth of Baghdad. There were no more police officers and Iraqi soldiers nearby.
The war appeared concluded, won, actually was just the beginning.

I remember well those times, I was in Thailand and my new life there just started in February 2003, then the war in March 2003 comes over.
I was sure at that time that there was no way out, I was really sure as hell and I can swore on it that another Vietnam was on the way. It was, it is.
The differences between Vietnam War and Iraq War are huge. First of all Vietnamese people was a defined strong united people that had no chance fight to win or die fighting.
There was a regime of course there was a military organization, a government, real soldiers, real officers, a real State going to get full independence and own life or die.
Vietnamese people kick the ass of Frances first, then Japanese, then to Americans. Finally was them to make Cambodia free from the Khmer Rouge nightmare.
In Iraq what we can see is just a bunch of Muslim of different tribes fighting each other for power and fighting the foreigner enemies. Seven years ago killing Saddam was like to open Pandora’s box.
Now there is nothing possible to do, just let them be and fins their own equilibrium, but this was clear to me already years ago, and I’m no one. Of course this equilibrium will cost many lives.
The great, invincible, and powerful army is now living, and there is nothing so crazy like March 1975 in Saigon.
Now we are in the era of asymmetric conflicts, where no one wins and no one loses, this is amazing! Wars today are conceived to last as long as possible, not to be win

The adventure in which has been committed by the political power is revealed in this case bankruptcy, and no one will pay. Bush is now gone, Blair also and in Italy we still have as PM that man that lead Italians soldiers to die for nothing. No one is in jail as they all should be. I will never forget that Americans, bombed a neutral country that had not declared war to them, that had not shoot to them.
People were just there without any fault when USA airplanes come to destroy the country. The bullshit mass destruction army was just that, just bullshit.
It is a regret dictated by anger or fear, the classical “it was better when it was worse” that should not be interpreted in the letter. The country has collapsed and now is their own business, their problem, a huge problem, that they must solve themselves. In the population no one has addressed a grateful greeting to the soldiers in departure, which have led to a bit of democracy. The value of democracy is much less then safety of course.

Nothing can be compared to 60,000 USA soldiers died in Vietnam but here over 4,000 boys lost their life. For what? More then 100,000 Iraqis are dead, probably the double, who will never know about.
The vast majority of the Iraqis did not have any contact directly with the Americans; this also explains the coldness for their departure. They had seen them in their suits, hidden behind dark lenses, with the weapons in hand, running fast on board of armored vehicles. It was nothing like Naples after the Second World War like ‘GI, GI dammi la cioccolata!’  that sound like ‘GI, GI give me a chocolate!’
No one ever come across a American military isolated, and even less unarmed, in a street in Baghdad. And even less in a coffee in the company of a woman or of an autochthonous friend.
Nothing again like Vietnam nothing like the brothels in Saigon or the many American-Vietnamese couple that now are living in USA.
The risk of being threatened by a terrorist, killed, kidnapped, moved the USA army to engage a huge number of persons in services or like traders.  A small number of Iraqis, civilians used in military bases, or around them, they were and are foreigners: if not Americans, from the emerging countries: from Philippines to India, from Latin America to Europe.
Basically a war fought inside a miraculous bubble of organization with an enormous cost in terms of money but as we all know… money is just paper to die for!
Between 24 hours from now will remain only fifty thousand, not more officially “combatants”, but “advisers”.
With them remains Baghdad a capital with kilometers of walls of reinforced concrete, behind which are barred ministries, barracks, hotels, private homes, whole neighborhoods. The centre of the metropolis the famous green areas, cities in the city where are locked up VIP political and diplomatic representations; first of all the United States. Their safe, armor-plated, and US outside, vehicle exposed to all the pitfalls. It is inevitable of course, but does not raise any sympathy. Outside there are burst roads, wet garbage, suicide bombers.
The withdrawal of troops calms the national pride, but adds the anguish for the security, and also the lack of confidence in the national authorities, which has not even able to ensure water and electricity. Just 24 hours and there will be not anymore the enemy and someone to give fault of anything going wrong.
Teheran probably will fill the vacuum left by the Americans and push the parties Shiites to sour the hostility towards Sunnis.
Another failure for all mankind, not just USA but also for Italy got involved in this craziness.  History will never cease to repeat itself, humans will never cease to be humans.

It is just the beginning again.
Do you remember the famous marvelous movie ‘2001 a space odyssey’ by Stanley Kubrick.
Do you remember the initial sequence when a bounce of monkeys-humans are fighting each other for water and food?
We are just there; we have not made a single step forward in the path of  evolution.
