New Technocracy in Italy and Europe – Democracy vs. Dictatorship

Here we are, everything is changing so rapidly, after the collapse of the last government in Italy, after the collapse of the last government in Greece, with new elections next week in Spain. In Europe is emerging a new kind of governance and management of society.
Other countries will soon follow this path, no longer a true democracy, but certainly not a dictatorship as we imagine.
The ECB now governs, or at least keeps a tight control, some of the famous PIIGS (Portugal, Italy, Ireland, Greece, Spain). Actually is no longer exclusively matter of southern Europe, all Europe is under daily financial attacks.
Of course, the weakest States were the first victims.

The Euro is proving what has always been: a giant with feet of clay. It is literally crumbling do to the fact that there never was a true European Union, that there never was a real common European… Continue reading

Italy will stay out from Nuclear!

We did it!
We succeed, I can not believe of the unbelievable results.
The full majority of Italians has clearly chosen a clear NO to the nuclear energy.

Italy from today will stay OUT OF NUCLEAR.
And, God willing, we will remain out forever.

The sovereign people have decided, along with other very important things, that in this country we will not build any nuclear power plant.

I am really happy that the country has recovered, somehow, common sense, harmony, all beyond stupid political bickering and partisan alignments of non-existent parties.
People want to return directly to participate to decisions so important for the country, decide our own future, decide using direct democracy.
There are a few things, but essential things, in which a private company cannot and should not put the bill and that if a state is really and truly a Nation MUST be able to provide those… Continue reading

The 10 points in the nuclear debate (Part 1)

In Italy next weekend there will be a referendum, a referendum on a series of questions including the return of Italy to nuclear power.
For more than two years the government was crazy in this direction, then the disaster of Fukushima happened in Japan, and everything stops.
After the atomic bomb, Japan is once again the lamb on the nuclear altar. I saw what happened at Chernobyl and my heart cry to imagine what will happen to the Japanese population, to childrens, future childrens of such beautiful country.
Thanks to Japan now the whole world re-thinks the matter, it raises questions that were gone in the banal everyday life.
Faced with evidence of the risk inherent in nuclear many European countries, led by Germany, have decided to stop their nuclear programs. The old plants will be abandoned at the end of the life-cycle and no new power plant will be… Continue reading

The 10 points in the nuclear debate (Part 2)

From the previous post…

(6) Twenty-five years after Chernobyl you see exactly what can happen, there are not additional considerations or studies, or more or less plausible hypotheses. The answers are in front of everyone, are in the eyes of girls of twenty, children that were exposed to disaster, survivors who now give birth to sons and daughters suffering from leukemia or thyroid cancer or hydrocephalus, or worse.

It is not over yet, illnesses and deaths will continue. And who brings out the numbers and statistics and claims that, in short, the dead were not that many, and that maybe other choices would be worse… I would like them to look at their eyes.

The area will no longer be habitable and for how long who knows what, maybe forever, but for sure for hundreds of years, and this on a radius of 300 km from the nuclear plant exploded.… Continue reading

5 stars movement in Italy, piazza in Spain, war in Africa

In Spain, since several days thousands of young “indignados” came together and sleep in the streets protesting the economic and social situation prevailing in the country.

North Africa is in full revolution.

In Greece, after weeks of chaos is now reigning a kind of unreal peace, partly dictated by the resignation, probably is calm before the storm.

Facing such indebtedness, facing social policies that can not afford more cuts, facing a predatory economy whose only and last purpose is money, facing a political class of inept and incompetent whose only interests are power and privileges, the path traced by our grandparents and democracy is at stake.
If Europe wants to exist, beyond geography, must solve problems of enormous gravity, which will soon burst Euro.
The values and strength of Nations are compromised in a clear rejection of the famous “social pact”.

A whole generation is cut off from society, a… Continue reading

The P.I.I.G.S. take Europe by the balls

After the latest news from Greece is better to go back to underline few things.
The streets are burning, people in Greece is in revolt, it has been for a year, and the Government to tackle the debt does not have other solutions than increase taxes and cut services to population.
A maelstrom in which the whole of Europe is ending, if you do not have money, a job, if you do not produce anything, if companies are closing down, with what money you should pay taxes too?
How do you pay for essential services such as health, transport, school if the service is no longer guaranteed by the State?

Several European countries are about to fail.
The worse, as usual, are the 5 P.I.I.G.S, sorted by acronym: Portugal, Italy, Ireland, Greece, Spain.
Of those who made it worse seems to be Greece.
For years, things are going on like… Continue reading

Italian Vanguard today

Vanguard is an awful word that betrayed so many hope in the past, today illusions and hopes are gone.

I’m quite lucky, and is quite easy for me to understand the real situation today in Italy, because I have a 5 years window when I was living abroad just when the worst things in Italy get shaped.
After my life in Thailand, and after 3 years again in Italy, I’m now so pissed off my own Italians fellows that right now my dream is just to move definitely out.

Yesterday evening, once again, I was watching on TV what is going on in Egypt since more than 2 weeks and also I was listening about the fact that on the island of Lampedusa (the more southern point in Italy, a small island) nearly 1000 people from north Africa arrived there with small boats.
Not only Egypt but also Tunisia and… Continue reading

Condemned three managers of Google accused of defamation

The Court of Milan in Italy has condemned three managers of Google accused of defamation and not respect of privacy because in 2006 they have not prevented the publication on Google of a video where four students from a technical institute insulted and beaten a guy affected by down’s syndrome.

In particular the court sentenced to six months in prison two managers and the former President of the Board of Google Italy. The three were sentenced for the head of imputation of violation of privacy but not for the head of imputation of defamation.

Just to set some schedule time… the video with the harassment to they guy affected by down’s syndrome was shot by the four students in May 2006, then loaded on Google video on 8 September, where with a huge amount of clicks it remained in the top section until 7 November.

The centre of this process… Continue reading

The snake’s head

They are the snake’s head, and no one has the courage to admit the fact that is not matter anymore of Banks or Companies.
There will be no solution continuing to invest and help banks that will give credit to companies that will employ people that will consume products on the market. It was nice, isn’t it? Regretfully capitalism is not working like that anymore.

How capitalism will manage billions of people?  What they will be paid for? What kind of job they will do? We have created for years, for decades so many useless things and so we have also created useless people. Right now the only reason of any economic activity is the profit itself, the chance to come in the market with a cheaper item, with a better price.

I can give you an example right here in Piedmont, a really good one.
Its name was Olivetti… Continue reading

Are we all insane?

Hi there…
I just want to remind to all my fellows Italians just a couple of things on the nuclear issue.
On 8 November 1987 three referendums are held on power plants and two on the justice system: a large majority of Italians rejects nuclear energy.
In light of the results, the Government suspends work on the Trino 2 plant (Vicenza), closes down the Latina plant, and controls the safety of the Caorso (Piacenza) and Trino 1 plants, plus the feasibility of reconverting the Montalto di Castro plant (Viterbo).
I would like to see some respect, the referendums are NOT EXPIRED, there was not an expiration date like a bottle of milk on it.
Please note:

- The power plants (at least 4) that the Italian Government want to build now, will be ready in not less then 20 years and will not be build with the last and safest… Continue reading
