New Technocracy in Italy and Europe – Democracy vs. Dictatorship
Here we are, everything is changing so rapidly, after the collapse of the last government in Italy, after the collapse of the last government in Greece, with new elections next week in Spain. In Europe is emerging a new kind of governance and management of society.
Other countries will soon follow this path, no longer a true democracy, but certainly not a dictatorship as we imagine.
The ECB now governs, or at least keeps a tight control, some of the famous PIIGS (Portugal, Italy, Ireland, Greece, Spain). Actually is no longer exclusively matter of southern Europe, all Europe is under daily financial attacks.
Of course, the weakest States were the first victims.
The Euro is proving what has always been: a giant with feet of clay. It is literally crumbling do to the fact that there never was a true European Union, that there never was a real common European policy, and most of all that there never was a European bank with full power over Euro and tools to stop the attacks of financial speculation.
Something must be done quickly to prevent the fall of Euro and with that the following collapse of the common market and the majority of European economies, even the strongest.
Paradoxically, it is now Italy, the most important of PIIGS, with its huge debt and its endless internal political squabbles. Italy with its defects and its problems, its inefficiency and corruption, with its scandals and its greatness.
Now is Italy to have on their shoulders the fate of Euro, if it fails will go the financial default of all Europe, including France and Germany.
Invested by the fate of the ”saviors of the Empire” Italy discover the power of technocracy. Disgusted by politic and its total inefficiency to solve even the most trivial problems it comes up a different solution.
Today it is called ‘Governo Tecnico’, Technical Government, Technocracy is called outside the boundaries of the beautiful country.
Technical Government born to deal with an emergency, was created to deal with a financial war, was created to deal with something that politics alone is no longer able to face.
Now let’s step back for a while…
The term Dictatorship has its origins in the Roman Republic, which meant the office of the Dictator and the duration of that office usually limited in time lasting approximately six months.
The Dictator was appointed by proposal of Republican Roman Consuls of the Roman Senate’s, but a senator could not become a Dictator.
The appointment of a Dictator took place only in particularly dangerous circumstances for the Roman State.
As example were appointed Dictators Cincinnatus and Quintus Fabius Maximus, both times when was at risk the very existence of Rome.
The Senate at any time could invalidate the mandate of the Dictator.
It is not marvelous what written above?
But seems to have heard all this just few days ago?
The Dictator is THE ONE WHO DECIDE, and often it was an experienced military leader.
Dictatorship is often considered the opposite of democracy and often coincided with authoritarianism and totalitarianism, denial of expression and press freedoms.
When democracy and politics do not work something else is going to act.
Sometimes can be brutal and violent, but violence is not always necessarily needed, Adolf Hitler was elected by the German People.
In Roman times Dictators were a kind of antibodies that came into action at the appropriate time defending the Nation from grave dangers and external agents.
When dangers were over antibodies were reabsorbed by the body itself, the Nation.
Somehow was democracy to generate and manage Dictators.
The big difference is that today there is not an enemy attacking Europe, something external to be resisted, a stranger, a horde of barbarians.
Today is the system itself that attacks itself. War is a financial war, the enemy an overwhelming power of multinational corporations and banks.
The system is still able to generate antibodies but they will attack the system itself, like some kind of autoimmune disease, or a cancer.
The inconsistency of the European political class, first of all the Italian one, have created by fact the impossibility not only to act in cases of emergency but also to manage the ordinary day of a globalized world with which have to make the accounts.
These are signs and symptoms of one of the largest changes ever on the horizon toady: the collapse of capitalism.
