The Supreme Thai Court decided the seizure of 46 billion baht (1 billion euro), more than half of the capital of the former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, considered guilty of having taken advantage of its political role to be enriched personally.
After the coup of September 2006, to Shinawatra (now in exile) have been seized assets amounting to 76 billion baht (1, 7 billion).
In Bangkok thousands of police officers and soldiers are settled to prevent any acts of violence by advocates of the former Premier. For 14 March a great event have been announced and already postponed twice.
Forces are deployed in all areas crucial of the capital, including the headquarters of the Constitutional Court, the Parliament and the Palazzo of the government.
“I want to confirm that I and my family we have earned the money with the hard work and not through corruption”, has declared Shinawatra.
