Photography and Art

I don’t mind about how did you made the photo, how ethical is to modify a photo with a computer or in a lab, how important is the technique to get results. My idea regarding photography maybe is an old school style view, but I think that it does not matter so much the theory, the sophistication of the camera. I know of course that quality is important, especially for professionals, especially for the business and the market, but finally there will be always someone that technically can make the shoot better then you do.
What I do believe regarding photography, what is really unique making a photo and what I look for when I click the button is the moment, the unique and unrepeatable second, a unique solid crystal that remains in the Sea of the time flow.
What I do care is hunting the perfect image.
What is really art, in my humble opinion, is that no one will be ever able to fix the same special and unique event; no one will be ever able to have the same instinct and sensibility to the same special light or point of view. So, together with the moment, it follows with the same importance the ability to catch the perspective, the outlook, the colors of nature, the contrasts in blend and intensity.
Sometimes I challenge myself looking for solutions to shoot what can appear at first sight as an impossible photo, actually here is where technique and experience comes up.
Sometimes I just let my feeling flow out.
I used since 2001 a Canon EOS 300 in June 2009 I moved to digital Canon 450D with three lenses (Tamron wide angle 10-24 mm / Canon standard 18-55 mm / Canon ultra-zoom 18-200 mm / Sigma tele 120-400 mm).
Right now I’m still discovering the enormous potential of a digital camera and I’m really amazed by this revolution especially I love the enormous digital darkroom control that I have after the shot. Probably is the dawn of a new age but a photo does never come to life for real until printed.
That is why finally I print all of them.
The images dated before 2009 have been realized starting from original prints using a scanner HP. All the new digital pictures have been developed from RAW file using Lightroom 3.0.
All photos have been saved as JPG files 1500 x 1000 pixels maintaining the best compression rate, they are displayed in all the portfolio’s galleries using Shadowbox JavaScript. The quality is the best possible accordingly with the image sizes and the connection speed limitations.
