Lagoon in Venice called Ca’ Roman
It was a nice trip in the lagoon of Venice a region that regretfully I know really a little.
The official excuse was to meet a friend of mine, and she was so kind to show me this marvelous place.
The name of this part of lagoon of Venice is due to the presence of an ancient roman fortification called Ca’ Roman, known also as Fort Barbarigo after the name of coastal defense battery built inside of it in 1912.
The lagoon of Venice is a refuge for many floro-faunistic species, and Ca’ Roman naturalistic oasis protect today about forty hectares of wild beach, dune and scrub.
In this silent and deserted area, where tourists seldom arrive, at the edge of the dunes and on the white sandy beach it is possible to see fishers, seagulls, terns, plovers.
At that time I was starting to use my 300 mm lens and my old and glorious Canon EOS 300 to approach and shot pictures of the seagulls, the light for the images was quite good and I spent there few days happy with the results of the photo session.
I promised to myself to be back in lagoon of Venice as soon as I can as the potential of the pictures available over there is really huge.
