Turin’s church ‘Gran Madre di Dio’
The ‘Gran Madre di Dio’ (Great Mother of God) in Turin is one of most important churches in the city and is also one of the most loved places by citizens.
The Church rises at the foot hill in a very suggestive position near the river Po, just in front of Piazza Vittorio Veneto, one of the main squares of Turin. The Church is situated raised compared the square and you must climb a staircase as visible in the pictures below.
On his right and to his left, are present two statues, representatives the faith and religion, made by Carlo Chelli.
The statue of the faith has in hand a glass that, according to esoteric tradition manifests itself as a signal an image of the presence of the Holy Grail in Turin and indicates, to who is in position to understand the complex symbolism, the hideout of the cup. One of my favorite spots for a photo.
Maybe the Holy Grail was brought by the pilgrims moving for Europe during the Middle Ages or perhaps from the Savoy itself together with the Holy Shroud.
