First time in New York
After the college I visited New York in 1991 with one of my friend; we spent there a couple of weeks in a YWCA hostel in Manhattan. We do enjoy the city looking around, eating outlandish food, visiting museums, traveling in the all neighborhoods.
At that time I still was into dinosaurs so the American Natural History Museum in New York city was another lifetime dream after the one I had in London years before.

Back in New York
I can not believe that I’m another time in New York, my first journey was in 1991 for a couple of weeks, now is 2010. Many things have happened since then, nineteen years are already gone. Probably the truth is that I can not believe or accept that this time passed.
During my main travel in Boston and New England, I definitely could not miss a short trip of three days in New York.

Empire State Building
I was there in a marvelous sunny and windy day and got the possibility to take some good photos with good visibility.
Excavation of this New York famous site began on January 22, 1930, and construction on the building itself started symbolically on St.Patrick’s Day.
The project involved 3,400 workers, mostly immigrants arrived in New York from Europe, along with hundreds of Mohawk iron workers, many from the Kahnawake reserve near Montreal. According to official accounts, five workers died during the construction.
The construction was part of an intense competition in New York for the title of “world’s tallest building”.… Continue reading
