Today Roero is a recognized wine-making area of Piedmont along with its neighbors Langhe and Monferrato; but Roero region is also known for its fruits production. The name Roero comes from the Roero family who dominated this area of Piedmont for a number of centuries during the Middle Ages, but as geographic identity is quite a recent term. Starting from the seventies Roero has identified the hilly region situated north of Alba in the north-east corner of the province of Cuneo in Piedmont, north-west Italy. Roero and Langhe’s vineyards from these parts are the most valuable can be, the wines typical of this part of Piedmont are stunning and the castles seems imposing from outside, but reveal grace and taste to the inside.
