Sardinia is the second largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, a part of Italy with regional autonomy granted by the Italian law. The outstanding Nuraghi named ‘Su Nuraxi’ is an important nuragic archaeological site near the town of Barumini in Sardinia. It was inscribed on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites in 1997.
